Your MCAA Board on the Move!
Marietta: If you’ve ever wondered what your Marietta College Alumni Association Board of Directors is all about, Homecoming Weekend 2013 is a perfect example of the organization in action.
Beginning with a President’s Reception on Thursday evening, October 10th, your MCAA Board was an active and engaged group mixing and mingling with a variety of Pioneer constituencies.
First up on the schedule was an opportunity to visit with current students during the Munchies on the Mall event. Serving as judges for this popular undergrad “cook-off”, desserts decked out in Navy Blue and White were great appetizers for some stimulating conversation with the next generation of The Long Blue Line.
The evening was topped off by a special session with Dr. Bruno during which he shared his vision for the College and the role of the Board and its alumni constituency in helping move it forward.
Friday morning, the Board was back at it tackling a challenging agenda during its annual October meeting. Around the conference table topics included results of the Alumni Attitude Survey, renewing support for the annual student philanthropy project, the Senior Challenge, and visiting with Alumni Trustees to learn more about the outcome of their meeting as well.
On Friday night, a brand new event, the All-Alumni Welcome afforded Chair Paula King Pitasky ’96, Homecoming and Events Chair Tracy Zuckett ‘96 and their colleagues an opportunity to introduce themselves to a lively crowd before adjourning to the Pep Rally on the Fourth Street Field.
Saturday was another full day beginning with the Alumni Awards Ceremony during the Marietta on the Mall celebration, interactions at the Don Drumm Stadium Tailgate, and visits to various class reunion receptions well into the evening.
