It’s hard to resist a dish of ice cream on a hot summer’s day and scores of Pioneers swarmed the Kremer Amphitheatre Tuesday, August 27th to not only take a refreshing break from the second day of class, but also to learn more about what the Marietta College Alumni Association and its Young Pioneer Network [YPN] have in store for campus in 2013-2014.
For Dr. Matt Macatol ’97, Friday afternoon’s welcome to incoming freshmen during the College’s traditional Matriculation Ceremony must have seemed like a quick trip in the time machine. Twenty years before, the positions were reversed and he was the wide-eyed, first-year student looking to find his way through those first challenging days on campus.
Wood County Pioneers Set to Stand Up for Coach Waddle’s “New Look” Football Team
When the Marietta College Pioneer football team storms onto the field to tee it up with the Capital Crusaders in the Ohio Athletic Conference home opener on Saturday, September 21, they’ll have plenty of support from their Wood County (WV) fan base thanks to a special promotion.
It would stand to reason that the Internet address for the Marietta College Alumni web site would need to be longblueline.marietta.edu, but if that were the only update to such an important URL, wouldn’t it be as Peggy Lee suggested in her 1969 hit song?
“Is that all there is?”
“With all due respect to Ms. Lee, there is much more to this electronic makeover than a new suffix,” says Associate Vice President for Alumni and College Relations, Hub Burton.
